Whew! November was a busy month! With church, work, school, vacation, doctors' appointments, and a holiday, we've not had much time to update. At least there is lots to say this time. The question is: where to start?
Haley's Surgery Follow-up
The day before Thanksgiving, Haley had her BIG surgery follow-up appointment at Children's. Something like 5 doctors and a nurse looked her over this time. And all the news was good. Dr. Loeser, her neurosurgeon, said her head looked "perfect." Dr. Walker, her neurodevelopmentalist, said she is progressing right on target and looks great. Another doctor (not sure who she was) even said she was astonished by how well Haley was doing. That's our girl.
Hernia Surprise
Two days before Thanksgiving, Kourtney and Kally brought Savannah up to visit. While here, Kourtney noticed that Haley's "privates" were looking kind of swollen. Kelsee investigated and sure enough...hernia. We had it verified the next day at the pediatrician, and are now trying to schedule a surgery...
Florida Keys! (Woo, hoo!)
Haley's first airplane ride dumped us into Florida over the Thanksgiving holiday. Great trip! It was absolutely fabulous down there! Blue skys, turquoise waters, palm trees, beaches, key lime pie, and alligators. Look for more details in our travel section. And check out our great pictures!
Haley did great on the trip. She hardly fussed on any of the flights, and other than the last day or so in the car, hardly fussed at all. And she charmed people everywhere she went. Good times...
Two-month Check-up
This morning Haley had her two-month check-up with Dr. Heigel. Another great visit. As a matter of fact, when the doctor observed Haley on her stomach with her head up looking around, she said that was the best control she'd ever seen on a two-month old. Even the vaccinations went well. Sure she screamed and cried for about 5 minutes afterwards, but you would to if you had to take 4 shots, 2 in each thigh.
