Another wonderful update from the WA-Purdys' household. Jason turned 30 today. Kelsee keeps reminding him that she's still in her twenties...
Things are going well. We spend our days just trying to keep up with Haley. Yep. She's mobile. Began commando-crawling a few weeks ago. She pulls with her elbows and forearms and pushes with her feet, and she's gotten very good at it. You turn your back for a minute and she's across the room and into something. Books on bookshelves are no longer safe. Neither are remote controls, phones, wastepaper baskets, feet, glass doors on the fireplace, nor anything that might have been left on the floor or in reaching distance. And she can pull herself to standing at the couch or chair, so anything left there is also fair game.
She has begun initiating games of peek-a-boo, as well. If she's holding a bib or her pajamas or something, she'll put them over her head, and then pull them off quickly with an expectant look. When you say "Peek-a-boo" she smiles or laughs hysterically like it's the funniest thing, and then she does it again.
Her favorite song is "Popcorn Popping", and when you begin singing it with the arm motions, her whole body begins to shake and she waves her arms like she's doing the motions with you. Very funny. She'll wave at you (though it's like trying to pull teeth), make sounds to get your attention, hold her own bottle, drink from a sippy cup (with help), and she even went from laying down to sitting up a couple of days ago, though it was such an effort she's not tried it again.
We've all just recently recovered from colds, and just in time as we head to Oregon for the 4th of July weekend. To the ocean on Thursday, Kourtney & Kris's on Friday, Mt. St. Helens on Saturday and then home. Haley will have been to the Atlantic, the Gulf, and the Pacific by the time she's 10 months old. Not that she'll remember...
