Kelsee and Haley made it home from Kentucky, and they survived. So did Jason, who practically shouted "Hallelujah!" across the airport when he saw them approaching. It was a good trip. Kelsee and Haley were able to visit with Kelsee's parents, all of her siblings and their kids, Jason's mom and step-dad, Jason's sister and her family, and Jason's grandma. They saw lots of friends, as well. Kelsee went with her sisters and parents to the Kentucky Derby, and with "seats" on the terrace, were able to see all of 15 seconds of the Run for the Roses. Still they sang "My Old Kentucky Home" at the top of their lungs, picked favorite horses, and just tasted the experience that comes from hanging out with 150,000 of your closest friends and witnessing "the most exciting two minutes in sports."
The day after they returned home, Jason and Haley honored Kelsee on her first Mother's Day. It was a good celebration, at least according to Kelsee. Haley gave her mommy a SpongeBob SquarePants card and an Allison Krauss CD. (Haley wants everyone to know that it had nothing to do with the fact that Allison Krauss is Haley's favorite; it's just coincidence.) Jason made Kelsee lunch all by himself, just to make the day adventuresome...

The next day (Monday the 12th), Haley had her OT appointment. Since her inner clock was screwed up after changing timezones, she wasn't her normal social self. Still, things went pretty well. Janelle felt, however, that as Haley begins to approach more complex expectations, she may need additional therapy. So now were going to meet with Janelle twice a month instead of once. Janelle also scheduled an assessment with a speech therapist, since Haley was behind in babbling (which, by the way, as Jason just recently learned, is like an "official" word that means repetitive utterances of consonant sounds, or something like that). Of course, as with rolling over and sitting up, it was only hours after the OT appointment that we were in the grocery store and Haley started "da-da-da-ing" all over the place. Now her "da-da-da-ing" is usually followed by the blowing of a raspberry.
Anyway, more to come later, most likely. Check here for past updates!
