Well, we're still getting around to getting Christmas information put up here, as well as lots of pictures from our Christmas trip to Kentucky. They'll be coming at some point. In the meantime, we've posted pictures taken over the last week or so with a new digital camera (well, new to us). Click here to see them.
Christmas in Kentucky
The trip to Kentucky started great and ended OK, sandwiching a hefty helping of drama. Check our last update for information on that. We were able to have all of Kelsee's siblings and their families together for at least part of the trip. It'll probably be the last time for a few years, since Kory recently embarked on his mission for the Church. We enjoyed the annual Kappes Family Christmas Party with Kelsee's aunts, uncles and cousins, and a somewhat subdued New Years Eve party with Kelsee's whole family. We were able to listen to Kory's farewell talk in Sacrament meeting in Columbus, and then attend testimony meeting in Owingsville.
Unfortunately, the bulk of time spent with Jason's Mom was spent in the hospital during Haley's big adventure. We were, however, able to have lunch with her early in the trip, and were able to get back for a few hours before we flew home, so Grandma Dee was able to see a little of Haley's dynamic personality. The Annual Purdy Christmas Gathering also was somewhat subdued, but we were able to see Jason's part of Jason's extended family, including Tanya, Mike and the kids, two aunts, a cousin and his Grandma.
New News (is that redundant?)
Haley's EEG went as good as can be expected, considering we had to hold Haley perfectly still for 20 minutes while they attached the electrodes, and then hold her with her arms wrapped up for 40 minutes while they ran the test. Haley wasn't thrilled. We hope to know the results soon, and hope that we can clear up the mystery behind the seizures. Haley has an MRI scheduled for February 4, so we'll keep you posted...
Since we've returned home, things have gone pretty well. Haley just seems to be growing and learning new things at an extremely rapid rate. Her teeth are popping through several at a time, it seems, and she's more than doubled her choppers in the last week or so. She can say "bye-bye", "nana" (for food and cousin Savannah), "dada", "mama", "dadee" (baby), "nuh" (no), and, as of today, "muh" (more, as in more food). She's can also do sign language for more, which she's been learning in her play group.
Things have settled back down after the holidays, thank goodness, and we're trying to get back to the routine.
We'll keep you posted as more news comes our way...
